Bartered Collections

Bartered Collections is based on exchanges between artists. The project draws its lineage from an unwritten history of artist exchanges and reinserts the age-old system of barter into our present day context. It began by inviting a group of artists into a temporarily closed system, to engage in intimate dialogues about their practices and undertake a series of negotiations towards trading their works. The process was brought into a wider and public context through the framework of an exhibition titled Len Den, which staged itself as a ground for further exchanges.
